Opening Rally: Global resistance to neoliberalism and war
7pm, Friends Meeting House
“Today we have a chance. We, the campaigners for radical change, have to raise our voices high”.
These are the words of Kamal Khalil of the Kifaya campaign (meaning enough in Arabic) who will be speaking at the opening rally.
He will be joined by Lindsey German, convenor of the Stop the War Coalition and Trevor Ngwane, former ANC councilor and founder of the South Africa Anti Privatisation Forum. The APF has been at the forefront of defending people’s basic rights to electricity and water, which are threatened by the governments neoliberal policies.
